Local guides

City guides: what matters for your menu

Each page starts from one city: its population, its visitors, its local rules and the restaurants the food guides pick. Then it says what Menyu can do for your menu, and what it can’t. Every figure links to its source.

    Belgium

Menyu works for a Belgian restaurant, with limits. Prices are in euros, as Belgian display rules require, and your dishes translate into 25 languages, Dutch included. Online payment is not available: payment accounts can only be opened in France. The menu’s buttons and the dashboard stay in French or English, and the sign-up phone field expects a French number.

    Switzerland

Menyu works for a Swiss restaurant, with limits, online payment first: payment accounts can only be opened in France. The price-indication ordinance requires prices in francs: once Swiss francs are chosen in the settings, you type your prices in francs and the menu shows them with nothing converted. Menyu’s own subscription is billed in euros, and the sign-up phone field expects a French number. What also works: the QR code, translated dishes, German and Italian included, the 14 allergens of the Swiss list and bookings confirmed by e-mail. The menu’s buttons and the dashboard stay in French or English.

    United Kingdom

Menyu works for UK restaurants, with the limits listed below. In the settings you choose pounds sterling and UK time: menu prices then show in £, typed as you charge them and never converted, and the opening status, time-based categories and bookings follow UK time. Online payment needs an account created in France, orders carry no tip line, the optional sign-up phone field refuses UK numbers, and the opening status reads in French (‘Ouvert · Jusqu’à…’), even on an English menu. Menyu’s own plans are billed in euros. The menu itself works as it does in France: the QR code, edits without reprinting, translations, the same 14 allergens the FSA lists, with the dashboard and the menu’s buttons in English.

    United States

Menyu works for a US restaurant, with limits. In the settings you choose US dollars and your city’s time zone: prices are typed and shown in dollars, with nothing converted, and the opening status and timed categories follow local time. Dishes translate into 25 languages and show their allergens, with dietary filters for guests, behind a QR code in your colors at an address that never changes; the dashboard runs in English. Where it falls short: online payment needs an account created in France, the sign-up phone field expects a French number, the opening status reads in French (“Ouvert · Jusqu’à…”) even on an English menu, allergens follow the EU list of 14 rather than the nine US major food allergens, orders have no tip line, and the subscription is billed in euros.
