Neighbourhoods
Between the Meuse, the Confluence and the pedestrian centre

The Hôtel des Tanneurs fills 15 seventeenth-century houses a short walk from the Théâtre de Namur and the confluence of the Sambre and the Meuse. Partage chose the pedestrian centre, Attablez-vous the heights of La Plante.456
For your menu
By the water, guests read the menu on their phones in the sun, so it has to stay short and easy to read.

Local rules
Terraces: a month ahead, through the public domain department
Any terrace on public land needs prior permission. The request goes to the Domaine public et Sécurité department, by e-mail ([email protected]) or by post to the Hôtel de Ville, a month before you set up; an officer then carries out an inquiry that sets the conditions.10
A fee applies, set by regulation. An extra terrace in front of a neighbour or on a square also needs written consent from the tenant or the owner, and a written undertaking to store the furniture off the street. On a regional road, written consent from the relevant authority is needed too.10
The department answers on +32 81 24 72 26; it sees people in the morning with or without an appointment, in the afternoon by appointment only.10
For your menu
If your terrace grows in the evening, plan a shorter evening menu.
Seasons and events
The Fêtes de Wallonie weekend
During the Fêtes de Wallonie the city applies a public-space regulation, revised in 2023. Trading starts on Friday at noon; in pedestrian streets it can begin on Thursday evening with permission.11
Terrace extensions must be requested in writing by 15 May. Only cafés and restaurants may sell alcoholic and fermented drinks on the street, and an alcohol counter may not exceed 2 m² within the terrace. A trader behind on the annual terrace fee cannot set up that weekend.11
The regulation defines a restaurant: a venue open all year, with at least ten tables, where guests order, are served at the table and pay after eating. Snack bars, chip shops and fast-food outlets do not count.11
For your menu
For that weekend, a short menu with festival prices goes live on Friday at noon, then the usual menu comes back.
According to the guides
By the Meuse and in the centre: five MICHELIN Guide restaurants
One starred restaurant, two Bib Gourmands and two selected addresses, from La Plante to Wépion. Two look out over the Meuse; two others belong to the same chef, Charles Jeandrain.
None of these restaurants is a Menyu customer, and we did not approach them. They are in the MICHELIN Guide selection for Namur and its surroundings; their websites, checked on 21 October 2026, showed their menu, bookings or hours.

Questions
Questions and answers
When should I apply for a terrace in Namur?
A month before you set it up, through the Domaine public et Sécurité department, by e-mail ([email protected]) or by post to the Hôtel de Ville. An officer then runs an inquiry that sets the conditions, and a fee applies.
The department answers on +32 81 24 72 26; mornings need no appointment.10
Can I put tables in front of the shop next door in the evening?
That is an extra terrace. You need written consent from the tenant of the shop next door or from the building’s owner, plus a written undertaking to store your furniture off the street.10
What does the Fêtes de Wallonie weekend change for my restaurant?
Trading starts on Friday at noon. Terrace extensions must be requested in writing by 15 May, and only cafés and restaurants may sell alcohol on the street, from a counter of 2 m² at most.
On Menyu, a festival menu goes live the day before and the usual menu returns on Monday.11
Is a QR code menu enough on the terrace?
Not for the prices. The FPS Economy wants them readable from outside without scanning a code; the QR code adds to the display, it does not replace it. The national rules are on our Belgium page.
Menyu covers what comes on top: dish details, translations, allergens.15
The Belgium page and its rulesIs the Menyu dashboard available in Dutch?
No, it comes in French and English. Your dishes, on the other hand, translate into 25 languages including Dutch; the menu’s buttons stay in French or English.
Can I take payment for orders online in Namur?
No: Menyu only creates payment accounts in France. With Premium, orders placed from the menu are paid at the counter.
Do the restaurants on this page work with Menyu?
No. They come from the MICHELIN Guide selection, 54 restaurants for Namur and its surroundings, and we did not contact them.7
