# Manage products, variants and options

> Build clear product details in Menyu, distinguish variants from extras and check prices in your published menu.

The catalogue holds your establishment’s products. The editor organises how they appear in a menu. Always check the public result after a change.

## Prepare product details [#prepare-product-details]

Open the correct establishment’s [catalogue](https://menyu.club/en/dashboard/menu-items). Select a product, then review its name, description and price. Use only images and information you are authorised to publish.

Descriptions should explain a dish without leaving customers to guess its ingredients. Check allergens with the people preparing the recipes. Review any AI suggestion.

## Distinguish variants from options [#distinguish-variants-from-options]

A variant is a version of a product, such as a size. An option offers a choice or extra. Before publishing, check:

- the name of each choice;
- its price or additional charge;
- whether it is required or optional;
- selection limits where available;
- any unavailable choices.

Avoid names such as “Option 1”: customers should understand what they are choosing.

## Check the customer view [#check-the-customer-view]

Save your changes and open the relevant public product page. If you offer ordering, check the total with selected options without placing a real order just to inspect it.

A product existing in the catalogue does not mean it appears in every menu. Check the product selection and publication status.

## If a price looks wrong [#if-a-price-looks-wrong]

Compare the base price, variant and selected extras. Note the product and menu involved, then [contact the team](https://menyu.club/en/contact?subject=support) if the difference remains unexplained.
