# First settings

> What to set up in the settings when you start with Menyu, page by page.

The settings open from your dashboard: [open the settings](https://menyu.club/en/dashboard/settings). They have six pages, in this order: **General**, **Location**, **Members**, **Subscription**, **AI Credits** and **Financial center**.

The first three are set once. The next two cover what you pay Menyu. The last one covers what your guests pay you.

> A page is missing from your navigation? Each page only appears if your access level allows it. The financial center is reserved for the owner. Ask them to change the setting, or to change your access.

## General [#general]

This page holds what your guests see of your business, then the display of your own workspace.

### Identity [#identity]

Fill in the **Business name**, add your logo and write a few words in **Description**. For the logo, a 500 × 500 px square is recommended.

### Public address [#public-address]

The **Address of your menu** field sets the address of your online menu, the one you share with your guests. It has at least 3 characters: letters, digits and hyphens, with no spaces or accents.

> Choose this address before you share it. If you change it later, the old address no longer leads to your menu: remember to update the links you have already shared.

The name, the description and the address are saved together, with the **Save** button. The **View the menu** button, at the top of the page, opens your public menu in a new tab.

### Cover image [#cover-image]

The cover image is shown large at the top of your public menu. A 1280 × 1024 px JPG is recommended.

### Interface [#interface]

These three choices only concern you. They are remembered on the device you are using.

| Setting | What it changes |
| -------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Display language** | The dashboard language: French or English. |
| **Dashboard home** | The page that opens when you arrive on the dashboard: **New home** or **Classic home**. |
| **Dashboard visual style** | The look of the statistics cards on the classic home. |

### Ordering and booking [#ordering-and-booking]

When your plan includes reservations, the page shows whether the cart is enabled and which service types you offer. These two settings are not edited here: the **Set in Reservations** button leads to the Reservations module.

### Danger zone [#danger-zone]

**Delete organization** permanently erases the business, its catalogs and its menus. Nothing can be recovered afterwards. A running subscription blocks the deletion: stop it first from the **Subscription** page.

## Location [#location]

This page holds the contact details and opening hours of your restaurant.

### Contact details [#contact-details]

Fill in the **Location name**, the **Address** and the **Phone**. The name is a reference in your dashboard: your guests do not see it. The phone number can be national or international.

### Social media [#social-media]

Five networks are offered: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok and WhatsApp. Leave the ones you do not use empty. Contact details and networks are saved together.

### Opening hours [#opening-hours]

Hours are set day by day. A day can have several slots, for example a lunch service and a dinner service.

- **Add time slot** adds a slot to the day.
- **Closed all day** marks a closing day.
- **Copy to every day** and **Copy to weekdays** copy one day's hours to the others.

Two slots on the same day cannot overlap. The seven days are saved together, with the **Save the hours** button.

## Members [#members]

This page lists the people who have access to your restaurant. To add someone:

1. Click **Invite member**.
2. Enter their email address.
3. Choose their **Access level**.
4. Click **Send invitation**.

| Access level | What it opens |
| -------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Operations** | Reservations and catalog access, without stats, revenue, or AI. |
| **Manager** | Operational access, global stats, revenue, and AI. |
| **Owner** | Full access to the organization. |

Each row carries its own actions: change the access level, **Deactivate** or **Delete**. A deactivated member can no longer open the restaurant, but stays in the list, marked inactive. A deleted member loses access immediately, and this cannot be undone.

The number of members depends on your plan. The page shows the **Seats of your plan**: when all of them are taken, remove a member or move to a higher plan to invite one more person.

## Subscription [#subscription]

This page shows what you pay Menyu: your plan, its status and its renewal.

- To subscribe, choose a plan and a **Billing cycle**: **Monthly** or **Yearly**.
- Once you have subscribed, the **Invoices and payment** section opens Stripe's secure portal. You find your invoices there, and you change your card or your plan, or stop the subscription.

Only the owner can subscribe, change plan or open the portal.

## AI Credits [#ai-credits]

Generating images with artificial intelligence uses credits. This page shows your **Current balance** and your usage statistics.

The page tells three kinds of credits apart:

| Credits | Where they come from |
| --------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Free credits** | Offered at sign-up, to try the service. |
| **Pro credits** | Monthly credits from the subscription, renewed automatically. |
| **Purchased credits** | Bought in packs, with no expiry date. |

When the balance runs out, the **Top up your credits** section offers packs. The **Buy** button opens the payment. Purchased credits add up with the others.

## Financial center [#financial-center]

This page only concerns restaurants that take payments online. It is reserved for the owner and has four views: **Overview**, **Stripe account**, **Transactions** and **Menyu subscription**.

To take payments, your restaurant needs its own Stripe account:

1. Click **Set up Stripe**.
2. Follow Stripe's steps. Supporting documents are entered directly with Stripe.
3. Come back to Menyu: the **Overview** view lists what still blocks payments, if anything is left to do.

Your guests' payments arrive directly on your Stripe account. You manage your balance, your payouts and your disputes there.

> Menyu takes a commission on each online payment. It appears in the financial center under the name **Menyu fee**. The net shown is what was collected, minus refunds and this commission, before Stripe's processing fees.

## Summary [#summary]

Before opening your menu to your guests, check these five points:

1. The name, the logo and the public address are saved in **General**.
2. Contact details and hours are up to date in **Location**.
3. Each team member is invited with the right access level in **Members**.
4. Your plan is chosen in **Subscription**.
5. If you take payments online, your Stripe account is set up in **Financial center**.
